Early in my career at an international consulting firm, I asked a Global Director, “How do we know our strategies work?” Their response was a blend of theory and indifference. It boiled down to: “Why do we care? We’ve already been paid.”

This answer left me unsettled. Over the next 20 years, I would explore this question and uncovered one recurring theme: execution. Today, the numbers are clear. 70% of strategies fail, most often due to employee resistance.

I’ve dedicated my career to understanding this problem from three unique perspectives. First, as a researcher in behavioral economics. Then in global M&A strategy consulting. And, finally, leading execution from inside a Fortune 500 firm.

What emerged is an unparalleled perspective on why strategies fail—and how to overcome that failure. By blending the latest in organizational research with real-world experience, I developed techniques that reliably improve the odds of success.

This led me to found 3Fold Collective: a firm built to bridge the gap between strategy and execution. We specialize in firms undergoing transformative strategic and cultural change, from turnarounds to mergers to executive successions. Our three-fold approach integrates organizational and social science with experienced execution to craft culturally informed strategies.

From those 20 years of research and experience, I’ve uncovered one simple truth: while strategy starts from the top, it succeeds from the bottom.

3Fold Outcomes is rare view into the machine. I unpack why some strategies quietly succeed while the vast majority (>70%) unravel. I write for those leading change in the real world: executives navigating complexity, operators trying to move systems, and curious minds who know that culture eats strategy only when strategy ignores culture.

You’ll find articles that blend behavioral science, organizational theory, and lived experiences from inside cultural transformations--drawing on anonymized cases from my firm, 3Fold Collective.

If you're curious how influence spreads, why resistance forms, and what leaders can do when the usual playbook isn’t enough, this is the place for you.
